The THIRD ANNUAL Educate a Child KASHMIR WALK leaves from the UK heading to scenic Kashmir. The KASHMIR WALK will unveil the beauty of Azad Kashmir whilst creating opportunities to visit historic and exciting places of interest. You walk to raise money to help orphans and children helping to educate the poor and creating a new cycle of opportunity, life skills and personal development for future generations.
Commencing in a picturesque district of Azad Kashmir, your KASHMIR WALK will pass alongside Faisal Mosque Islamabad with viewings over Mangla Dam and through the Neelum and Jehlum Valleys.
The KASHMIR WALK is tailored to include visits to READ Foundation schools, enabling you to see the work and establishment of our dedicated schools across Kashmir and Pakistan. In this way you will be able to see directly the results of your efforts.
Educate a Child KASHMIR WALK is a fundraising walk with a difference. Walking and working with the largest educational network across Pakistan, you’re challenging yourself with around 2.5 km walk daily (circular 15km) over a period of 7 concurrent days.
Where will the walk start & finish?
Commencing in a picturesque district of Azad Kashmir, your KASHMIR WALK will pass through Murree, alongside Faisal Mosque Islamabad, viewings over Mangla Dam and hot water fountain, and crossings over the renowned Banjosa Lake, Neelum and Jehlum Valleys.
Can I take part in the Kashmir Walk?
The walk is open to anyone over the age of 18 years and as long as you’re up for the charity challenge and motivated in raising your target sponsorship, then this KASHMIR WALK is not to be missed!
Walkers less than 18 years of age can join but they must be accompanied by an immediate responsible family member. READ advises a full health check is undertaken by your GP, prior to the KASHMIR WALK.
How much should I raise to help Educate a Child?
The sky is the limit! The KASHMIR WALK aims to raise donations towards our educational and welfare projects. READ believes the education of every Child matters. Every pound makes a difference to the lives of orphans and underprivileged Children.
The minimum amount sponsorship required to be raised is £1,500.
READ foundation has organised comfortable and appealing arrangements for accommodation and meals throughout the duration of your stay.
How can I raise the money?
Don’t delay – begin saving today! Share your KASHMIR WALK plan with friends, family & colleagues. Do a ‘warm up’ WALK through your locality, simply raising awareness of the KASHMIR WALK and raise sponsorships!
Ambitiously, local businesses are sending their representative(s) to join the KASHMIR WALK! Groups, companies, family trusts, charities, banks, and mosque committees can nominate one of their Reps to participate in the WALK and promote their business. You can also find a full sponsorship for you by approaching businesses around you.
Sign up, and receive your KASHMIR WALK t-shirt, which you can wear immediately when raising funds for your sponsorship. You will be receiving other promotional material to make awareness and raise funds from the communities around you.

When will the Kashmir Walk begin?
The WALK commences on Saturday the 19th of November 2011 and will finish on Saturday the 26th of November.
What is the walk like?
Stunning views, challenging, inspirational, enjoyable, fascinating, rewarding, energising, memorable and sociable, to name a few of the experiences our committed WALKers shall experience.
READ's dedicated Project Managers have carefully selected outstanding geographical ‘beauty spots’ with spectacular views. You will be far from disappointed and feel immense self satisfaction for raising sponsorships and knowing your challenge is making a significant impact to enhance a child's future emotional and academic stability.
Rest stations will be positioned at regular intervals enroute, enabling access to washroom facilities, snacks and medical support. A qualified Medic has been arranged for each Group. Drinking of water/fluids will be encouraged throughout the WALK.
When should I join?

What if the weather is bad on the day?
We cannot guarantee good weather. Only in the event of very severe weather conditions, planning will be adjusted accordingly. We recommend you carry suitable clothing and footwear for hot, cold and wet weather conditions.
